NEW News Ticker
As seen on the Northern NSW Soccer Federation (NNSWSF) web site http://qa.isport.com.au/soccer/nnswsf/, we have created a news ticker function that draws news from your web site and presents a scrolling display of your news headlines on a selected page. NNSWSF chose Multibase to build a new 'home page' to their web site and have the news ticker scroll across the bottom of that home page design.
Upgrades to Administrator Interface
We have extensively upgraded our administration processes and more importantly the administrator interface. The purpose of this was to aid in our response time to customer service requests - we hope you notice the difference!
Promoting Your Web Identity - Domains and Domain Masking
Experience shows that one of the most successful ways to promote use of your web site is to connect your own domain name to it, and then use that domain to promote your web site. There are a number of varieties - for example, yourassociation.com.au, yourassociation.org.au and so on. The domain name can be pointed to your web site for quick user access. You can also have mailboxes@yourdomain name - for example, secretary@yourassociation.com.au.
When you register a domain name - www.yoursportorganisation.com.au - why have it disappear when you reach your website? Helping you to have your own identity on the web, domain masking ensures the only domain shown in the address bar when visiting your web site is your own.
If you have a domain name and would like to use our domain masking feature, or would like to register a domain name to replace the isport.com.au address currently shown on your web site address bar, please contact Customer Support customerservice@mbase.com.au for options and pricing.
News/Events Archiving
In response to user feedback, we have introduced automatic archiving of News and Event items. Simply by entering a date in the 'Expires' field when inputting a news item will signal to the system when to archive your News item. The Events function archives those Events that have passed their 'End Date'. You can access the archived News and Event items from your Home page and from the News and Events pages.
Smart Calendar
Administrators may be familiar with our 'smart calendar' that appears on the home page of some of our client web sites, linking the user with results that have been entered for the competition games/matches played on the date selected. We have extended this function and it is also available for your Events Calendar. You can now choose to have a smart calendar on your home page that is linked to the Events function of your web site, allowing the user to select a date and see what event items have been entered for that date.
What's Coming Next?
Online Registration
Would it be easier if your participants could register and pay for their season membership online? Multibase is currently developing its own Online Registration & Payment system to complement the SAMSON sports management system - however it's not too late to get involved with the requirements gathering phase of this development.
If you are interested in taking part in the development process of this most exciting new feature please contact our Customer Service team at customerservice@mbase.com.au.
Context-Sensitive Help
Context-sensitive help makes it easier for you to administer your site, by providing instructions for the particular feature that you are using. This help system also gives public users a quick guide to the functionality available on your site.
Club Championships
A more flexible Club Championship function is currently under development, to accommodate most sports' specific competition requirements and enhance your results information.
